Petra Museum – Exhibition Hall Redesign
Located in the Adjara region of Georgia, the Petra Museum is a significant cultural landmark preserving the history of the ancient Petra fortress. This project focused on redesigning the museum's exhibition halls to enhance the visual experience and provide a more immersive storytelling environment for visitors.
The previously bright and neutral exhibition spaces were intentionally darkened to create a controlled lighting atmosphere that draws attention to the historical artifacts. Custom-designed display shelves were installed behind glass panels, with precise spotlighting to highlight each exhibit in an elegant and focused way.
The environment was enriched with thematic illustrations, wall graphics, and narrative texts, creating a cohesive and engaging journey through Petra’s history. The design strikes a balance between modern exhibition techniques and respectful preservation of cultural heritage—ensuring that every detail serves the story.
This redesign of the Petra Museum exhibition spaces demonstrates how thoughtful lighting, material contrast, and visual storytelling can transform a historical display into an immersive cultural experience. The result is a space that not only showcases valuable artifacts, but also invites visitors to engage with history in a deeper, more emotional way.
