A hotel-style renovation in Old Tbilisi combining a preserved red-brick ground floor with a modern upper level, rooftop restaurant, and elegant French balconies—blending history with contemporary design.
This project is located in the heart of Old Tbilisi and involved the partial demolition and vertical extension of an existing historic building. The goal was to transform the structure into a hotel-style space while preserving its architectural character.
The original first floor, built with traditional red brick, was carefully retained and restored. On top of it, a new second floor was added—also executed in red brick but with a modern interpretation, featuring large panoramic windows and elegant French balconies that reflect the surrounding historic charm in a contemporary way.
A rooftop restaurant space was created above the new floor, offering views over the city and adding public value to the project. The building also includes a newly constructed elevator shaft for improved accessibility and a red clay tile roof that complements the area's architectural language.
This design merges tradition and innovation, breathing new life into Old Tbilisi’s urban fabric.
